Under supervision, the Patient Care Technician performs routine non-professional and professional care. This includes unbagging and bagging equipment, preparing post-operative kits, directing doctors and patients to the appropriate rooms, assisting medical staff with patient care, performing visual fields, setting up patients for required testing, sterilizing instruments and equipment, maintaining adequate supplies, and ensuring front and back waiting rooms are in order. The role also involves physical tasks such as pulling, pushing, and cleaning gurneys, as well as cleaning and organizing pre-op and post-op rooms.
