About The Position

The Patient Care Technician, Certified provides direct patient care to an assigned group of patients utilizing the team concept, under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Therapist. Performs delegated tasks from nursing personnel related to the care of the patient in a safe and efficient manner. Completes documentation of patient related tasks and adheres to the policies, procedures and scope of practice.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or completion of a nursing assistant program required.
Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants, Certified Nurse Assistant through the Louisiana State Department of Health, OR Certified Patient Care Technician/Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant through the National Health Careers Association
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider through the American Heart Association
Non-Violent Crisis Prevention through the Crisis Prevention Institute. (obtained within 90 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

Two years as a certified nursing assistant or patient care tech in lieu of education.
