About The Position
Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patient. The Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary position in the NICU also performs tasks related to receiving, preparing and delivering infant feedings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian and according to established procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current BLS CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Certificate from an accredited nursing assistant training course (CNA); or minimum six months previous patient care experience or equivalent; or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
- Strong math skills for preparing and delivering infant feedings
- Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions
- Proficient communication skills
- Attend in depth orientation regarding patient care skills tasks
- Current Food Handler Course Certificate of Completion
Responsibilities
- Performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patient.
- Performs tasks related to receiving, preparing and delivering infant feedings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian and according to established procedures.
- Attends patient care skills tasks related to preparing and delivering infant feedings.
- Floats to other women's and children's units to float as a patient sitter.
