As a PCT in the SDCC/Procedure Unit, you’ll support nurses in caring for patients before and after surgical and diagnostic procedures. You’ll assist with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and provide calm, compassionate support as patients prepare for or recover from procedures. Your steady presence and attention to detail help ensure patients receive safe, high-quality care in a fast-moving, team-centered environment. Working in the SDCC/Procedure Unit gives you hands-on experience with pre-op and post-op care, patient preparation, recovery monitoring, and supporting patients undergoing a wide range of procedures. You’ll build strong skills in vital signs, communication, teamwork, and recognizing changes in patient status. With structured orientation, supportive leadership, and close collaboration with surgical and procedural teams, you’ll gain confidence quickly and develop a solid foundation for future growth in nursing or other clinical roles.
