As a PCT on the Post-Surgical Unit, you’ll support nurses in caring for patients recovering from orthopedic, general, urology, bariatric, gynecology, and other surgical procedures. You’ll assist with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and provide compassionate care during early recovery. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to support patients physically and emotionally after surgery. Working on the Post-Surgical Unit gives you hands-on experience with post-operative care, mobility support, wound care coordination, and monitoring patients recovering from a wide range of surgeries. You’ll strengthen skills in vital signs, patient communication, teamwork, and recognizing changes in patient status. With structured orientation, supportive leadership, and a collaborative team, you’ll build confidence quickly and develop a strong foundation for future growth in nursing or other clinical roles. The Post-Surgical Unit is a 22-bed department caring for patients recovering from orthopedic, general surgery, urology, bariatric, gynecology, plastic, and oral/maxillofacial procedures. The team works closely with surgeons, therapy services, dietitians, and wound care specialists to support physical, mental, and emotional recovery after surgery.
