About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care within an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will assist with daily patient needs, perform basic clinical procedures, and ensure a safe and comfortable patient environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Patient Care Technician experience in an acute care setting (ED experience preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Completion of a Patient Care Technician program
• BLS (AHA) – required
• Phlebotomy Certification – required
• EKG Certification – required
• Strong proficiency in vital signs monitoring and glucometer use
• Knowledge of basic patient care procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) required

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Epic EMR system (training may be provided)

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurses with patient care, including hygiene, comfort, meals, and transportation
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for patients across all age groups using aseptic techniques
• Conduct EKG procedures and accurately document results
• Monitor and record vital signs, glucose levels, intake/output, and daily weights
• Prepare patient rooms for admissions and maintain a clean and safe environment
• Assist with patient admissions, procedures, and basic assessments
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support individualized care
