About The Position

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This position is per diem, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per month. A variety of shifts are available, including nights, holidays, and weekends. Stoneman 7/Feldberg 8 is pair of oncology units with 46 inpatient beds where patients are primarily admitted for non-hematological malignancies, of which a special group is undergoing biologic therapy for the treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma and metastatic melanoma. Other malignancies treated are based on a need to have chemotherapy administered on an inpatient basis or to manage post chemotherapy complications. This unit will accommodate hematological inpatients when a need arises and dependent on bed availability. Collaborates with an inpatient nursing team to provide quality patient care.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan.
  • Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.
  • Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse.
  • Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
