Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. Loyola Medicine is part of a three-hospital system including Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital. The (3W) Observation/Surg Unit is an exciting fast-paced 21 bed unit located on the 3rd floor of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. All rooms are private and are centrally monitored if clinically indicated. To work in the Observation Unit, our staff need strong assessment skills, the ability to think critically and adapt to new challenges, along with strong communication skills to care for our patient population and work with our interdisciplinary teams. As an Observation unit we are dedicated to our patients by providing quality care with attention to clinical expertise, evidence-based practices, patient safety and positive outcomes. Our patient population includes but is not limited to care of the adult patient with a variety of medical diagnoses of the neurological stroke, infectious disease, other medical conditions, and some cardiac conditions. Patients on our unit may have an average length of stay of 48 hours to four days. We utilize an interdisciplinary team approach along the continuum of care in an effort to provide balance for the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs for every patient and their family. If you are interested in working for a regional leader in healthcare, delivering compassionate care and improving the lives of those in our communities, join the Loyola team and become Loyola Strong!
