About The Position

The 38 bed Medical 4 unit is a terrific fit for a PCT who is looking for an environment with an opportunity to work with a collaborative, hard-working, interdisciplinary team. You will work with a variety of patients from medical patients, wound care patients, and surgical patients. This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. It involves performing basic care services to patients, under the direction of physicians, mid-level practitioners, and potentially registered nurses. This is an experienced level role requiring basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requiring vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision, works through problems of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, OR Nursing student with clinical experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years of healthcare experience and nursing service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care for patients including, but not limited to, personal hygiene, elimination, catheter care, vital signs, and skin care and mobility activities. Documents according to procedure.
  • Reinforces belongings policy with patients and families, documents appropriately, and secures them according to procedure.
  • Provides nutritional support assisting with feedings as needed. Documents I&O and weight as required.
  • Performs selected and therapeutic procedures as outlined in competency and skills check list.
  • Cooperates with members of the healthcare team to achieve departmental objectives and maintain good employee, inter-departmental and public relations.
  • Sets up equipment for and/or assists physicians/clinicians with treatments, dressings, tests, etc., as assigned.
  • Performs 12 lead EKG. Documents patient information on EKG sheet. Gives EKG promptly to appropriate nurse or physician.
