The Patient Care Technician provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and plan of care under the direction of area leadership, RN or licensed independent practitioner. This role involves monitoring patients' conditions, providing updates to the healthcare team, and delivering direct and indirect care to meet patients' comfort, personal hygiene, and safety needs. The PCT ensures the clinical location is safe, clean, and stocked, and contributes to a positive patient experience by adhering to safety goals and identifying/reporting potential harm to the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities also include obtaining and recording patient information, collecting specimens, attending mandatory in-services, and ensuring patient safety through participation in safety initiatives.
