Functions as part of the hemodialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients in accordance with FMCNA policies, procedures, and training and in compliance with regulations set forth by the corporation, state, and federal agencies. The position involves providing patient care under the supervision of the FKC RN in an acute setting, promoting a safe and clean working environment, and participating in quality improvement activities. The technician may set up and prime equipment, monitor patients, perform vascular access cannulation, calculate and program dialysis machines, collect specimens, and manage intradialytic problems. They are responsible for accurate documentation of vital signs and treatment parameters, initiating and discontinuing treatments, and evaluating patient response and vascular access.
