About The Position

This position assists staff by performing clerical and patient care duties under the direction of an RN. The role involves maintaining and updating patient records in a timely and orderly manner, and acknowledging and greeting customers upon arrival to the unit with an enthusiastic and friendly approach.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination.
  • Completed Fundamentals of Nursing course or a Nursing Assistant Program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Experience as a patient care technician in an acute care setting or nursing home.
  • Experience with direct patient care (vitals and ADL job duties) in an assisted living facility.
  • Current Roper St. Francis teammate.
  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree (in any field).
  • Must successfully complete the RSF PCT Training Program upon hire.
  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification Card.
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Skill in English grammar and spelling.
  • Neat, legible handwriting.
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records (both paper and electronic), files and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to use office equipment such as multi-line telephones, computer terminals and printers.
  • Knowledge of patient care tasks and techniques to provide nursing care.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant preferred.
