The Patient Care Technician provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and plan of care under the direction of area leadership, RN or licensed independent practitioner. This role involves monitoring patients' conditions, providing updates to the healthcare team, and delivering direct and indirect care to meet patients' comfort, personal hygiene, and safety needs. The PCT will ensure the assigned clinical location is maintained as a safe, clean, and stocked environment, and contribute to the patient experience by accurately identifying patients and observing safety goals. They will also identify and report physical and mental responses posing harm to the Registered Nurse, obtain and record patient information, and assist in the collection of specimens. The role requires attendance at all mandatory in-services and training, and participation in patient safety initiatives. The PCT is expected to demonstrate ASPIRE Values and teamwork in patient care delivery, recognizing the importance of time-sensitive issues.
