The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) works under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director. The PCT is responsible for assisting with patient care, documentation, and supply management, ensuring the unit is supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may perform administrative duties such as answering the telephone, responding to patient inquiries within their capabilities, and performing data entry and collection. In the discharge unit, the PCT assists discharged patients, coordinates discharge logistics, and helps patients access health-related services and resources. The PCT adheres to all policies and procedures of Northern Arizona Healthcare, performs or assists with procedures within their scope of practice, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team. The role may involve caring for patients across all age groups, from infants to geriatrics. This position is strictly on-site.
