Patient Care Technician - P.E.A.R.L. Fellow
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. This is a PRN position with 6 hours per week, working a rotating 12-hour shift every two weeks, including weekends and holidays. The PEARL Fellowship is for MUSC nursing students entering their N2 Semester who meet College of Nursing eligibility criteria, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and provide two references, one from a clinical instructor.
Requirements
- MUSC nursing student entering N2 Semester
- Meet College of Nursing eligibility criteria
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Provide two references, one from a clinical instructor
- Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
- Thereafter, must maintain Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
