About The Position
This role is for a Patient Care Technician in the Oncology specialty at Ascension Via Christi - St. Francis in Wichita, KS. The position is full-time with a day shift schedule. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School Diploma or GED OR an active CNA Certification required.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on assistance with basic patient care under the guidance of licensed nursing staff
- Support safe patient movement, transfers, and positioning
- Observe and report changes in patients' physical, emotional, or mental condition to the nursing team promptly
- Accurately document care activities and observations in patient records
- Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and ensure medical equipment is properly cared for and ready for use
