About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Technician in the Neurology department at Saint Thomas Midtown, a facility within Ascension. The position is full-time and operates on the night shift. The technician will be responsible for obtaining and recording vital signs, charting patient data, and reporting any abnormal findings. They will also monitor and document fluid intake and output, and perform blood draws using proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols. Direct patient care, including rounding and assisting with activities of daily living, is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
