About The Position
This role is for a Patient Care Technician in the Neurology department at Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN. The position is full-time, working day shifts. The technician will provide support and care for patients with a wide array of diagnoses, assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, take vital signs, and contribute to the positive physical, mental, and emotional support for each patient. There is also a training component in Phlebotomy to assist nursing staff when needed.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Nurse Aide preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and care for patients with a wide-array of diagnoses.
- Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Take Vital Signs during your shift and report findings to nursing staff.
- Train in Phlebotomy to be able to assist nursing staff when the need arises.
- Contribute to the positive and encouraging physical, mental and emotional support for each patient.
