Patient Care Technician - MSICU
About The Position
Our Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) is an 18-bed unit caring for patients with critical medical and/or surgical care. We are devoted to flexible scheduling and work hard to balance and meet the needs of the unit and staff. Come check us out!!! The schedule includes working a weekend and holiday rotation. POSITION SUMMARY: Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgements or administration of medications. Duties include, but not limited to: Bedside patient care, vitals, positioning, feeding, Phlebotomy and EKG. Is accountable for the patient care they deliver. Adheres to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent with medical background, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity preferred.
- Basic computer skills required
- Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
- Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- First Aid training provided upon hire
