Under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, the Patient Care Technician II delivers direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, performing phlebotomy, collecting specimen samples, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs). This position entails monitoring and accurately documenting patient status, facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. Key responsibilities encompass wound care, catheter management, blood glucose monitoring, EKG operation, and providing support with enteral feedings and respiratory treatments as directed. The technician works collaboratively with the healthcare team, provides guidance to junior staff, participates in patient rounds, responds promptly to alarms, and complies with established safety protocols to enhance patient outcomes and maintain a secure clinical environment. Additional duties include maintaining patient rooms and supplies, delivering post-mortem care, and contributing to efficient patient flow and care delivery.
