About The Position

This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with day shifts and rotating weekends. The Patient Care Technician works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with vital signs, EKGs, bladder ultrasounds, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, patient hygiene, ambulation, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose monitoring, feeding, admitting patients, preparing patients for discharge, and other duties delegated by the RN. The technician also assists with the implementation of patient-specific care plans and participates in unit functioning. The role emphasizes contributing to safety outcomes and promoting a high-quality patient experience.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required
  • 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course
  • Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Prior nursing assistant experience

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
  • Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
  • Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
  • Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
