About The Position

This role is within the Medical ICU at Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN. The Patient Care Technician will support patients with daily living activities, assist with safely moving and positioning patients, observe and report changes in patients’ physical, emotional, or mental condition, document basic care activities and patient observations, and maintain a clean, organized patient environment and ready-to-use equipment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

Support patients with daily living activities, helping them maintain comfort, dignity, and independence during their care.
Assist with safely moving and positioning patients, helping prevent injury and promote mobility and recovery.
Observe and report changes in patients’ physical, emotional, or mental condition, ensuring the care team can respond quickly and appropriately.
Document basic care activities and patient observations, helping maintain clear and accurate care records for the team.
Maintain a clean, organized patient environment and ready-to-use equipment, creating a safe and comfortable setting for care.
