About The Position

The Patient Care Technician I position involves assisting patients with various aspects of their care, including obtaining vital signs, weights, and heights. Responsibilities extend to assisting patients with mobility, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring. The role also includes taking patient histories, preparing examination rooms, assisting with minor medical procedures, observing and reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and documenting patient information. The technician will also be responsible for preparing, organizing, and utilizing supplies and equipment efficiently, maintaining phlebotomy equipment and inventory, and performing other assigned duties. This role requires a willingness to work with a diverse patient population, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the Care Center.
  • 6 months prior healthcare experience with patient care experience preferred.
  • Completion of Healthcare Provider Course within six months preferred
  • BLS preferred; required within 3 months of hire.
  • CCMA in PCT program related preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients with obtaining and recording vital signs, weights and heights
  • Assisting patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, accommodations as needed
  • Performing EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring if needed
  • Taking patient histories, preparing examination rooms, and helping with minor medical procedures like wound care, vaccinations, and blood draws, if needed
  • Observing and reporting changes in patients’ condition to the RN
  • Preparing examination rooms as needed
  • Documenting patient information and data, including vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature
  • Preparing, organizing, and efficiently utilizing supplies and equipment
  • Maintaining phlebotomy equipment and inventory
  • All other duties as assigned
