About The Position

Under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, the Patient Care Technician I delivers direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, performing phlebotomy, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs). This position entails monitoring and accurately documenting patient conditions, collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, and maintaining patient safety and comfort. Key responsibilities include wound care, specimen collection, urinary catheter management, and prompt response to patient alarms. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, strong communication skills, teamwork, and the capacity to manage multiple clinical tasks efficiently. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, Maryland CNA or GNA certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and preferably prior experience in patient care. The position demands physical endurance, proficiency in safe patient handling techniques, and the ability to work in a hospital environment with potential exposure to bodily fluids and infectious agents.
