The Patient Care Technician I (PCT I) is a role dedicated to ensuring the patient has an exceptional patient care experience while in our center by meeting all patient needs. The PCT I will assist the technologist through smooth patient transitions and continuously engaging with the patient on exam expectations and wait times. The PCT I will assist the patient with any incomplete clinical pre-screening forms or consents and conduct the clinical history interview in preparation for the technologist’s final review. The position will perform clinical screening for XRAY, Mammography, and Bone Density exam patients for technologist review. In addition, the PCT I will contact the referring provider office to obtain updated orders, clarify orders, and determine when a new order is required. The PCT I must ensure patients are notified when prep/exam details have changed prior to the exam’s scheduled date. The PCT I is responsible for requesting and validating the patient’s prior reports and images, and ensuring the clinical review has been conducted in a timely manner, prior to the patient’s exam. Miscellaneous duties include: stocking the changing rooms, tech supplies etc.
