About The Position

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs specific assigned duties in providing patient care for the medical patient in accordance with established SRH and Nursing Services Policies and Standard Work. Functions in a supportive role to communicate patient care needs and resolve work-related issues. Performs any other job related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Department Director.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• SC Nurse Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN school OR completed Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed 2-year Health Science Technology Program OR completed Patient Care Tech course OR successfully completed the SRH PCT program, OR Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program, certification eligible.
• Must achieve certification within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certified.

• If PCT II: worked in at least 2 units independently; delivered one in-service or participated in one special project; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor if needed.
• If PCT III: worked in at least 3 units independently or covered 2+ roles; delivered/participated in two in-services and/or special projects; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor.
