About The Position

This is a full-time (90% FTE) position for a Patient Care Technician in the Float Pool. The role involves working evening/night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. The position is located at UW Health Swedish American Hospital in northern Illinois. The role requires the technician to be listed as active and eligible in the Illinois Registry for CNA, possess a High School diploma or equivalent, and have computer experience. Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a fundamentals of nursing course and registration on the Illinois Department of Health Registry is required, or a nurse who has completed RN or LPN training in another country and completion of EKG. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Float between different units as needed.
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Monitor vital signs and report changes to the nursing staff.
  • Document patient care activities accurately.
  • Respond to patient call lights and needs promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
