About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver direct patient care. This role involves assisting with a variety of patient care activities essential to the functioning of the unit, contributing to safety outcomes, and promoting a high-quality patient experience. The position is part-time, 24 hours per week, with night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am, including rotating weekends. Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required
  • 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
  • Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
  • Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
  • Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
