The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator and a Telemetry Technician. This is a FULL-TIME NIGHT SHIFT PCT position needed for the Cardiovascular-Thoracic Unit (CVTU). The CVTU is a 27-bed unit caring for patients from the PACU, Cath Lab, ICU, and ER. Patient types include STEMI’s, Heart Failure, Post Open Heart, TAVR’s, Carotid’s, and all rhythm-related conditions. The unit also serves as an overflow for the ICU, leading to a wide variety of patient acuities. As a PCT on CVTU, you will be trained as a telemetry technician and have the opportunity to work in the Northern Tele Hub, monitoring patients from 5 different hospitals. A pay increase will be given upon passing the telemetry test and completing telemetry orientation. The unit can be locked 24/7 when necessary for patient and staff safety.
