Patient Care Technician - Cardiac Renal Unit (CRU) (PCT)
About The Position
As a PCT on the Cardiac Renal Unit, your day will include assisting with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and providing compassionate bedside care, including support for patients nearing the end of life. Your ability to stay focused, observant, and compassionate will make you an essential part of delivering safe, high-quality care every day. You’ll gain specialized experience with patients experiencing heart failure, dysrhythmias, renal insufficiency/failure, unstable angina, MI, and pre-open heart surgery needs. You’ll learn how to support telemetry patients, recognize changes in patient status, and work alongside nurses trained in dysrhythmia and EKG interpretation. Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months
- Completion of required PCT classes
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, oral care, toileting, and linens
- Support safe mobility, repositioning, and transfers
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Document patient information accurately
- Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
