About The Position

This position is for a Patient Care Technician in the Cardiac Ambulatory Surgery department at Glenbrook Hospital. The role is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week with 10-hour shifts over 4 days, from 10 am to 8:30 pm. The technician will provide basic patient care, assist with patient handling and transfers, obtain and document vital signs, and support admissions, discharges, and transports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
  • No prior experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care including bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and positioning under the direction of an RN/LPN
  • Perform purposeful hourly rounding and respond to patient call lights and requests
  • Assist with safe patient handling including ambulation, transfers, and repositioning using proper equipment
  • Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other patient care activities per protocol
  • Support admissions, discharges, and patient transports while ensuring patient safety and comfort
