About The Position
This position is for a Patient Care Tech working night shifts on a PRN (as needed) basis. The role involves observing and reporting patient status and needs, responding to call lights, assisting with patient care tasks, and maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Minimum of two years patient care experience preferred
- Ability to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
Responsibilities
- Observes and reports patient’s status and needs.
- Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs.
- Obtains specimens and transports them.
- Transfers, moves, and repositions patients.
- Monitors and records patient’s vital signs.
- Assists physicians and nurses during medical examination and treatment.
- Makes occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and understands safety responsibilities.
- Respects and regards the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees.
