About The Position

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) position is for the CSU Unit, a fast-paced environment seeking skilled PCTs. This role involves providing assistance to patients according to their plan of care, collecting patient data, and reporting significant findings to the nurse. The PCT will also assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, and provide/revise patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences. The role requires performing technical procedures safely and proficiently, taking action to reduce patient risk, and accurately documenting care. Collaboration with the nurse is essential for adapting care to the patient population and incorporating cultural/religious needs. The PCT will maintain a clean and safe patient environment and anticipate the needs of patients, families, and visitors, performing rounding as appropriate. Texas Health HEB is a 252-bed acute-care hospital serving the DFW mid-cities area since 1973, specializing in various services including women's, perioperative, cardiac, oncology, and emergency medicine. The hospital is ANCC Magnet Designated and holds multiple certifications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or Current EMT for TX or Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.

• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate.
