About The Position

The Intermediate Care Fast-paced Unit is looking for top skilled PCTs. This role provides assistance to patients according to the plan of care, collects patient data, and identifies and reports significant findings to the nurse. The PCT assists in admissions, transfers, and discharges, and revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences. They perform technical procedures safely and proficiently, take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk, and may enter orders into the computer or manual system. Documentation is accurate and appropriate. In collaboration with the nurse, the PCT adapts care to reflect the patient population, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into care delivery, keeps the patient environment clean, and maintains a safe environment. They anticipate patient/family and visitor needs, take action to meet those needs, and round as appropriate.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or Current EMT for TX or Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.

Previous hospital experience is preferred.
