About The Position

A Patient Care Tech assists with nursing care, performs job functions according to specific age and/or developmental needs, and works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Charge Nurse of the unit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS, required (can obtain after hire)
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic

Nice To Haves

• Certification as Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
• Equivalent experience as a nursing assistant or a current nursing student that has completed the Fundamentals of Nursing is acceptable in lieu of certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge in patient care i.e.: bathing patients, assisting patients with ambulation and/or transfers, vital signs, and other patient care.
• Demonstrate positive customer service relations.
• Routinely participate in Quality Improvement projects and encourage department to continuously improve.
• Assist co-workers as needed/requested.
• Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned.
