About The Position
Works under the direction of a licensed nurse to assist in meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in a professional and timely manner. Performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Position provides direct care with limited invasives procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Reading and numerical competency.
- Competency in use of technology and computers.
- Ability to demonstrate basic care giving skills and essential job functions.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
- Must successfully complete "Handle with Care" within 6 months of hire/transfer, and annually thereafter.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
- Reports patient welfare, safety and security to RN.
Nice To Haves
- Previous care giving experience preferred.
