About The Position
This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the General Surgery specialty at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. The position is full-time and operates on the night shift. The Patient Care Tech will be responsible for obtaining and recording vital signs, monitoring and documenting fluid intake and output, performing blood draws, and providing direct patient care including rounding and assisting with activities of daily living.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Nurse Aide preferred.
Responsibilities
- Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
- Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
- Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
- Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.
