About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown PCU) at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola. The position is full-time, working days with a schedule of 3x12 hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Patient Care Tech will support patient comfort and dignity by assisting with personal care and activities of daily living, protect patient safety and mobility by aiding in proper positioning, transfers, and movement, and champion real-time patient advocacy by observing and reporting physical, mental, or emotional changes to nursing staff. Additionally, they will document patient care journeys accurately and efficiently, and maintain clean, organized, and stocked patient rooms with fully functional medical equipment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Prior patient care experience in the acute care setting.
