About The Position
Join the Rehabilitation Unit at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a day-shift, full-time Patient Care Technician. The PCT works in partnership with registered nurses to support patient care, monitor patients, document information, and report observations and concerns. The position also assists patients with mobility and activities of daily living and helps maintain a safe, clean environment. The role may include clerical support for the assigned unit. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification, or current enrollment in nursing school.
- At least two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support patient care.
- Monitor patients at timed intervals, document data as directed, and report observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse.
- Obtain and accurately record patients’ vital signs.
- Respond promptly to call lights.
- Assist patients with mobility and basic activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift reports as directed.
- Perform assigned direct and indirect patient care duties and may provide clerical support to the assigned unit.
