About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct patient care and support to healthcare teams, assisting with daily patient needs, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. This role is essential in delivering high-quality, compassionate care and supporting clinical staff in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to work effectively in a team.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and infection control practices.

Nice To Haves

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
Collect specimens for laboratory testing, including blood, urine, and other samples.
Support patient comfort and safety by providing basic nursing care under supervision.
Help with patient positioning, turning, and mobility to prevent pressure ulcers and promote healing.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms and equipment.
Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to nursing staff.
Assist with feeding patients and ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
Support infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
Document patient care activities accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
Assist with medical procedures and equipment setup as directed by nursing staff.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the delivery of excellent patient care.
