About The Position

This role is within the Surgery department at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville. The Patient Care Tech will assist patients with personal care and daily living activities, guide and assist with patient mobility and positioning, observe and report changes in patient condition, document patient care and observations, and maintain clean patient rooms and prepared medical equipment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with their personal care and daily living activities, ensuring they feel supported, comfortable, and treated with dignity throughout their stay.
Guide and assist patients with movement and positioning, protecting their physical safety while helping them build momentum in their recovery.
Identify and report subtle shifts in physical or emotional conditions to nursing staff—advocating directly for patient safety.
Document patient care and observations promptly to ensure seamless communication across the healthcare team and maintain high standards of record-keeping.
Maintain clean, orderly patient rooms and well-prepared medical equipment to foster a hygienic, welcoming space for healing.
