The Patient Care Tech (PCT) Surgical role at Texas Health Frisco is a full-time, night shift position. The PCT will provide assistance to patients according to the plan of care, collect patient data, and report significant findings to the nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges, providing and revising patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences, and performing technical procedures safely and proficiently. The PCT will also take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk, enter orders into the computer or manual system if applicable, and document accurately and appropriately. In collaboration with the nurse, the PCT will adapt care to reflect the patient population, incorporate cultural/religious needs and beliefs into care delivery, keep the patient environment clean and safe, and anticipate patient/family and visitor needs, rounding as appropriate. The role is part of a busy 16-bed unit with self-scheduling options, opportunities for educational and career growth, a robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and an engaged leadership team. Texas Health Frisco is a 93-bed acute care hospital serving the Frisco community and surrounding areas, offering specialized services in women's health, outpatient surgery, neonatal intensive care, emergency medicine, heart and vascular care, digestive health, and bariatrics. It is a collaboration between Texas Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center, featuring a multispecialty clinic. The hospital is Joint Commission-certified as a Level III Trauma Center and Acute Heart Attack Ready facility, and is a designated Baby-Friendly facility and recognized as a Pathways to Excellence organization.
