Join our team as a day shift, full-time, Pre Surgical Testing, Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Albuquerque, NM. Lovelace Women’s Hospital has 173 licensed beds, including a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center, and the first robotic surgery program in the state, recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.

Requirements

  • High School or GED.
  • Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross-trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • 2 years’ experience in acute or long-term care.
  • Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, or currently enrolled in nursing school.

Responsibilities

  • Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT I, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
  • Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
  • Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
  • Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
  • Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
  • Assists patients with range of motion.
  • Draws blood.
