The Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery Unit is comprised of two inpatient units: the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit and the Joint Restoration Unit. These units treat general and progressive care patients with diagnoses including knee/hip replacements, spinal surgeries, infected joints, and amputations. The unit also cares for patients who have sustained injuries from motor vehicle accidents, falls, or other traumatic accidents. Extensive training is offered for new graduates, and orientation is tailored to experienced nurses' needs. Skills can be expanded with external fixators, traction, multiple drains, and wound care. This is a fast-paced, surgical unit in the field of Orthopedic Trauma.
