About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Med Surg department, specifically within the Respiratory Observation unit at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. The position is full-time and operates on the night shift. The core responsibilities involve obtaining and recording vital signs, accurately charting patient data, and promptly reporting any abnormal findings. The role also includes monitoring and documenting fluid intake and output to support safe patient care and clinical decision-making. Additionally, the Patient Care Tech will perform blood draws as trained, adhering to proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols. Direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living, is also a key part of the role to support patient comfort and mobility.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities
