About The Position
The Patient Care Technician II reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT II performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility OR Certified Nursing Assistant OR EMT or Paramedic certification OR Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution or equivalent training.
- Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution or equivalent training preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist the RN with patient data collection.
- Assist with activities of daily living.
- Independently perform a variety of basic clinical procedures.
- Independently perform advanced clinical procedures (identified by unit).
- Perform routine clerical duties.
- Assist with nutritional needs.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Respond to patient and visitor requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
