About The Position

Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital seeks a Patient Care Tech II for their MedSurg department responsible for rendering direct and indirect patient care under direction of appropriate licensed personnel. Facilitates care to meet patient's daily living activity needs by providing clerical, physical, emotional support. Provides personal self-care and activity programs. To assist with workflow of unlicensed assistive personnel in the department.

Requirements

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
For PCT II position, unlicensed assistive personnel in specific departments may require additional certifications/qualifications: Certified CPI Instructor for Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (Psychiatric Services), Emergency Medical Technician certification or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic certification (CT, Advanced Imaging, MRI or Interventional Radiology Departments), Emergency Medical Technician certification, Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic certification, or Certified Nursing Assistant certification (Emergency (GVCH)), Successful completion of Telemetry Monitor Observer course within six months in the job (Santa Ynez ED and SY Cardiac Rehab).

Nice To Haves

Ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record) and computer order entry.
Patient Care Tech, or equivalent, experience in an acute care or outpatient clinic setting.
