About The Position

This position is responsible for providing basic patient care, including managing equipment and supplies, addressing patient comfort needs, and maintaining a safe environment. The role requires effective communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a basic understanding of medical terminology and patient safety.

Requirements

• Ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record)
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Ability to solve minor problems of patient care, including equipment and supplies, relationships, basic comfort needs, environment, and communicate to appropriate caregiver.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Understand and utilize basic medical terminology.
• Basic understanding of the concepts/disease processes most commonly seen on the unit.
• Knowledge and basic understanding of patient safety and ability to perform tasks in a manner safe for the employee and patient.

Nice To Haves

• Training as a nursing assistant
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
