Patient Care Tech - Emergency Department, Nights
About The Position
The Piedmont Henry Emergency Department is a Level III trauma center that sees 75,000-90,000 visits per year and is licensed for 59 beds. The department features a 3/4:1 patient to RN ratio and includes a recently added 18-bed Cardiac Observation Unit. The multidisciplinary team in the ED includes ED MD, ED APP, ED RN, C-RN, Flow Coordinator, Unit Based Educator, RN, ED Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians, Radiology staff, Respiratory staff, Patient Experience and Patient Access. The Patient Care Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy.
Requirements
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
Nice To Haves
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred
- 1 year of patient care experience Preferred
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Preferred
- Certification from a Patient Care Technician program Preferred
