About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Emergency Department at Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee. The position is full-time and operates on a day shift schedule. The Patient Care Tech will be responsible for assisting patients with movement, placement, personal care, and daily activities. They will also report patient condition changes to nursing staff, maintain patient rooms and equipment, and perform specific emergency department duties within their scope.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Nurse Aide credentialed from the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Certified Nursing Assistant credentialed from the state of Wisconsin, and in Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work in a hospital setting obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Aid with movement and placement of patients.
Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.
Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
Perform emergency department specific care/duties as assigned within scope of job.
